About This Course

The Gypsum Carpenter (Drywaller) course trains students in the installation of gypsum board (drywall) partition walls, suspended false ceilings, and decorative plaster elements used in modern commercial, office, hotel, and residential interiors.

Gypsum carpentry is one of the fastest-growing interior fit-out trades in Nepal and the Gulf. Modern buildings use gypsum board systems for interior walls, feature ceilings, and decorative elements because they are fast to install, lightweight, and fire resistant. Skilled gypsum carpenters are in consistent demand in hotel, office, and villa fit-out projects. This course is affiliated with CTEVT (Center for Technical Education and Vocational Training), Nepal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as plastering? No. Plastering applies wet cement/sand mortar to surfaces. Gypsum carpentry installs dry pre-manufactured gypsum board panels fixed to metal frames — a different system that requires different tools and skills.

What is the demand like in Nepal? Growing fast — hotel renovations, corporate offices, and modern apartments all use gypsum systems. In Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Birgunj, this trade is in active demand.

What do Gulf gypsum carpenters earn? NPR 55,000–90,000/month. Feature ceiling and decorative specialists earn more.
