About This Course
The Masonry & Construction course provides hands-on training in bricklaying, plastering, tile laying, concrete work, and shuttering — the core skills of Nepal's construction industry.
Construction is one of the largest employment sectors in Nepal and a major source of overseas jobs. Skilled masons are consistently needed for housing, infrastructure, and commercial projects.
What You Will Learn
- Building materials: brick, block, cement, sand, aggregate grades
- Mortar mixing: ratios and consistency for different applications
- Brickwork and blockwork: bonding patterns, corners, openings
- Plastering: sand cement render, smooth finish, rough cast
- Concrete work: mixing ratios, pouring, vibrating, curing
- Shuttering (formwork): erecting, stripping, re-use
- Tile laying: floor and wall tiles, grout, waterproofing
- Foundation types and simple footing construction
- Reading basic building drawings and setting out

Month 1 — Brickwork & Mortar
- Construction site safety

- Bricklaying: stretcher bond, English bond
- Building corners, piers, and openings
Month 2 — Concrete & Plastering
- Concrete mix ratios and preparation
- Concrete pouring and vibration
- Shuttering for beams, columns, and slabs
- Plastering: internal sand-cement and external render
Month 3 — Finishes & Assessment
- Floor and wall tile laying
- Waterproofing bathrooms and wet areas
- Reading building plans and setting out
- Final practical and written assessment
