About This Course
The Tile Mason course trains students in the professional installation of ceramic, vitrified, marble, and granite tiles on floors, walls, and surfaces in residential, commercial, and hotel projects.
Tile masons are among the most consistently employed workers in Nepal's booming construction sector and in Gulf countries where hotel and commercial interior fit-outs require skilled tile work. This course is affiliated with CTEVT (Center for Technical Education and Vocational Training), Nepal.
What You Will Learn
- Prepare and level surfaces for tile installation
- Lay floor and wall tiles using appropriate adhesives and mortar
- Cut tiles accurately using angle grinders and tile cutters
- Apply grout and achieve professional finish lines
- Install waterproofing membranes in wet areas
- Create pattern layouts (straight, diagonal, herringbone)
- Work with materials: ceramic, vitrified, marble, granite, mosaic

Week 1–3 — Fundamentals
- Tools and materials for tile work

Week 4–6 — Installation
- Floor tile laying (straight and diagonal patterns)
- Wall tile fixing (bathroom, kitchen, exterior)
- Waterproofing wet areas and balconies
- Working around fittings and corners
Week 7–8 — Finishing & Assessment
- Grouting and jointing
- Cleaning and sealing tiles
- Large format and decorative tile techniques
- Final practical assessment
